Satyricon is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Oslo in 1991. Satyr and Frost have been the band's core members since 1993, and its only official members since 1997. The band's first three albums typify the Norwegian black metal style. Since its fourth album in 1999, the band has strayed from this style and included elements of traditional heavy metal in their sound. NRK P3 is a nationwide digital radio channel operated by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). Dunderbeist (sort of Norwegian for "Noisy Beast") is a heavy metal band from Hedmark in Norway. Career The band was formed by former members of Krace, KITE and Stonegard. Dunderbeist has been recording since 2008 with several albums and extensive touring. The six-piece band now releases material outside Norway following its first international album, ''Black Arts & Crooked Tails''. ''Songs of the Buried'' continued where ''Black arts & Crooked Tails'' left off, but is darker, heavier and more progressive, both musically and lyrically. Death was a recurring theme on the album, portraying death as the end of something but the beginning of something else. Sólstafir is an Icelandic post-metal band formed in 1995 and currently signed to Century Media Records, Century Media. Originally a black metal band, they transitioned to a post-metal-influenced style with slight traces of their earlier black metal. History Sólstafir was formed in 1995 by guitarist/singer Aðalbjörn Tryggvason, bassist Halldór Einarsson, and drummer Guðmundur Óli Pálmason. Dark Fortress was a German melodic black metal band from Landshut formed in 1994. They released seven studio albums, a split album and a demo album. The band broke up in 2023. Shining is a Swedish black metal band, formed by Niklas Kvarforth in Halmstad in 1996. Shining's musical style is dark, aggressive and depressive, with progressive musical elements and personal and often suicide-themed lyrics. The band's music is composed primarily by Kvarforth, whose behaviour has led to numerous controversies over the years. Shining have released eleven studio albums to date. Enslaved (band)
Enslaved is a Norwegian extreme metal band formed by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson in Haugesund in 1991. They are currently based in Bergen. The band's lineup has changed many times over the years, with Bjørnson and Kjellson being the sole constant members. The current lineup also includes lead guitarist Arve Isdal, keyboardist/singer Håkon Vinje, and drummer Iver Sandøy.
